Claire Sweeney reveals she's lost 'almost a stone' in two days as she embraces body

Claire Sweeney is embracing her body after losing almost one stone in just two days.

The former Brookside actress is currently wowing fans with her jaw-dropping performance at her Proud Cabaret show in London, featuring a string of outfit changes.

Earlier this week, the 51-year-old revealed she “bloody loves eating” but hopes to feel “fitter and stronger” by the time her cabaret show comes to a close in July.

She said: “Love being curvy, but wanna feel fitter, stronger and shifting a little bit of timber won’t go amiss.”

The ex-Loose Women panellist also went on to say she gained weight during the lockdown periods before claiming it was “hard” to get back “on the wagon”.

But now, Claire appears to be in her element as she shared a weight loss update with her Instagram followers as she posted a screenshot including a variety of figures about lean body mass and muscle mass.

She said: “Ok so this is mental!!! 6lbs lost in just two days. Goes to show, don’t rely on the scales. It could be the time of day you weigh yourself, how you position them, time of the month, and water retention. All make a difference.

The star explained that she was ditching her scales for her favourite jeans

“I’m gonna use my favourite jeans as a gauge from now on. No wonder scales can wreck our heads. Favourite jeans and photo diary from now on!”

Her post which has since racked up hundreds of likes was soon flooded with compliments from fans who applauded Claire for sharing the revelation.

“You are looking good,” gushed one.

While a second added: “You look amazing! Scales are fab to keep track but you can get obsessed.”

“You are beautiful in every way you don’t need scales to tell you that,” commented another.

Before a fourth typed: “You looked great the way you were, looks like you’re gonna be even greater.”

The Liverpool-born actress recently reflected on her decision to take to the stage, telling Closer magazine: “This show has got a really raunchy feel to it, laced with lots humour.

‘I wear a fabulous catsuit! I find it really liberating that I’m going to get completely outrageous and I am going to sing the song Light My Fire with a big band arrangement – and I think they’re actually going to set fire to me while I’m doing it.

“This does all mean that I want to look my physical best. So the plan is to start going to the gym and doing hot yoga five days a week because it’s amazing for weight loss and strengthening my core.”
