Coronation Street's Beverley Callard shows off huge new tattoo 'growing' up her leg

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Beverley Callard has unveiled her new tattoo which she said is ‘growing’ up her lower leg.

The Coronation Street actress posted her brand new ink on Instagram to her 163,000 followers.

She began working on the large piece in December which features five large flowers, three blue, one pink and one purple. The fauna extends from the tip of her toes right up to the top of her shin, just below her knee.

She showed off her new tattoo on Instagram and captioned the post: “New ink…it’s growing.”

The caption could refer to her tattoo, a vine of flowers that seemed to creep up her leg, or her ever growing tattoo collection.

Beverley’s large tattoo covers her whole leg

The Coronation Street actress revealed her first ever tattoo at 59 years old, a tribute to her marriage to Jon McEwan, after going under the needle with fellow campmate Jordan North on their TV show Destination Wedding.

The tattoo is an homage to their love and features the classic tragedy and comedy theatre masks, surrounded by music notes, a bright red heart and an inscription of their names and anniversary date.

Beverley, who played Liz McDonald for 31 years on Coronation Street, left the soap and her final scenes were aired in late 2020.

She couldn’t wait to proudly show off her ink on Instagram

She’s been busy as of late, focussing on her first role since her departure from Corrie.

The I’m A Celeb star is set to appear in a new comedy series called Newark, Newark which is currently being filmed in Nottingham and due to air on Gold.

Beverley will star alongside the likes of Gavin and Stacey actor Mat Horne, Misfits’ Lauren Socha and comedienne Morgana Robinson.

Beverly played Liz for over three decades

It is believed that Beverley will play the mother of Morgana’s character Maxine and the series will be broadcast in three parts.

The series focuses on chip shop owner Maxine’s divorce as she searches for a romantic spark and will be Beverly’s first acting role since she left the cobbles.

She was due to tour with the theatre show Thundergirls before the Covid-19 pandemic hit and decided to compete in 2020’s I’m A Celeb series, where she was the third celebrity to be eliminated.
