Danniella Westbrook almost crashed car after spotting ‘dead body' at side of road

Danniella Westbrook admitted she “nearly crashed” her car while driving past what looked to be a person collapsed at the side of the road.

The former EastEnders star was left horrified as she took to social media to describe the incident – sharing a picture of what looked to be a man wearing a grey hoodie, reclining against a fence.

A terrified Danniella asked: “Who even does this?

“I nearly crashed my car thought it was a person who was hurt.”

However, it simply appeared to be a scarecrow stuffed with hay and grass – and was missing the bottom half completely.

And thankfully Danniella saw the funny side, as she explained: “Gotta laugh or you would just be left wondering what sort of people walk among us every day. #KnowYourNeighbours.”

She later told her Instagram followers: “They’ve put a hoodie with a pillow, looks like someone’s sat there. Funny as f***”.

Danniella has a habit of looking on the bright side, after she thanked her “car crash addiction days” and people “throwing stones” – which enabled her to come through a stronger person.

Speaking in January, the star – who has said she has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia – explained: “Today I am grateful for my journey my life my mistakes and the fact I’ve made them and faced them publicly… People criticise me ridicule me judge me and throw hate at me… and it’s all ok.

“People are entitled to have an opinion and also freedom of speech. And I actually would like to thank people for throwing stones at me because without some of that hate I may well not be sat here today writing my third book.”

She described the negative attention she received at the time as a “blessing”, which helped her expand her platform to reach others who might be suffering.

She added: “The glass is always half full never half empty people remember that no matter how hard life gets… and the fact I’ve made my mistakes and had to live my car crash addiction days so publicly is actually a blessing because it enables me to use my platform to let others that are suffering theirs in silence privately read my story and know they are not alone and that a new way of life is possible.”
