Denise van Outen 'moving on from Eddie Boxshall' and 'won't let him back in house'

Denise Van Outen is said to be “moving on” from her ex Eddie Boxshall and wants her pal Kimberley Walsh to replace him on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Denise, 47, ended her engagement to city trader Eddie, also 47, after discovering he had been having phone sex and meeting women behind her back.

Denise’s pal Kimberley, 40, would be her dream replacement for Eddie on the popular Channel 4 show.

A source told The Sun: “Denise and Eddie joined Gogglebox together in 2019 and were a hugely popular part of the celebrity series.

“They were already signed up to the next round of filming when Denise dumped Eddie and she wants to honour the commitment.”

Eddie won’t be seen on the sofa again

“But she won’t be having Eddie back in the house, let alone on her sofa, so she is looking for a friend to come on board.

“Ideally, it would be Kimberley Walsh as they’re good pals and Kimberley has been on Gogglebox before.

“The split has knocked Denise for six but she’s putting on a brave face and moving on as best she can.”

Denise rose to fame in the 90s as presenter of The Big Breakfast. In recent years she has appeared on Dancing On Ice and The Masked Singer.

She has also been the narrator of The Only Way Is Essex since it began in 2010.

Kimberley and Denise would be a popular Gogglebox pairing

Denise and Kimberley have been friends for years. They both competed in series 10 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.

Denise had been with commodities trader Eddie for seven years and the couple were due to be married this year.

She kicked him out of their Essex home after discovering his infidelity.

Heartbroken Denise — who has a daughter Betsy, ten, from her marriage to actor Lee Mead — has since unfollowed Eddie on social media and confirmed their split in a statement.

Kimberley and Denise have performed on stage together

She wrote: “Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.

“It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship.

“I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children.”
