EastEnders Lucy Benjamin looks completely different two years after appearing on soap

EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin has teased her epic transformation for her latest acting stint.

Lucy, 51, is best known for playing Lisa Fowler in EastEnders and Maggie in the BAFTA award-winning BBC Four series Detectorists.

The actress first appeared on Albert Square and was introduced as the “home-wrecking blonde” in 1998.

Lisa was last seen in Walford in 2020 to pursue new endeavors.

The actress who is typically identifiable for her iconic blonde curls associated with her loud-mouth EastEnders character now rocks a completely differently look.

Now, the mother-of-two who lives in Essex has opted to stay true to her natural hair colour as she rocked her grey curls while re-hearsing on-set.

Taking to Instagram, the acress gushed: “Week 7 of rehearsals. Loving’ it!”

Lucy’s acting credentials have seen her star in the stage musical Hairspray and her new acting stint sees her partake in the theatre adaption of Henry VI and Wars Of The Roses.

In the snap, the Jupiter Moon actress can be seen wearing a beige top and black jeans as she went through her lines where she’ll play Eleanor, Duchess of Gloucester, for the production for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Lucy first made her debut in EastEnders in December 1998.

In the BBC soap she had two major relationships with Phil Mitchell and Mark Fowler and left the show in 2020 in drama-filled scenes with daughter Louise Mitchell, as they fled to Portugal.

Lucy also starred in the 2009 series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here alongside Kim Woodburn, George Hamilton and Gino D’Acampo.

The actress lives in a stunning home in Essex with her husband Richard and their two daughters Bessie, 15 and Lucy, 11.

Last year, the actress starred in an Essex theatre production called Love Letters.

The show coined itself as “a brand new musical celebrating the best of Essex” and included a range of hits from the 1960s to today from Essex artists, including songs from singer and activist Billy Bragg and Olly Murs.
