Emmerdale fans fume at Charity Dingle as they point out major plot hole in ITV soap

Emmerdale fans are furious with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) after pointing out a major plot hole in the latest show.

Thursday’s episode (July 28) of the ITV soap saw Charity inform Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) that Amelia (Daisy Campbell) is pregnant.

Charity also informed Mackenzie that Noah (Jack Downham) was the father of Amelia’s unborn offspring and claimed Amelia had ‘told her’ he was – but viewers disagreed.

Posting to Twitter, Emmerdale fans pointed out that Amelia had denied Noah being the father of her unborn child to Charity and were confused why she had lied to Mackenzie.

One fan wrote: “Why has Charity got it into her head that Amelia’s carrying Noah’s spawn when the girl flat-out denied it was him?”

Another commented: “What’s Charity on about? Amelia didnt’t tell her it’s Noah’s? Ffs.”

Meanwhile, a third said: “#Amelia didn’t say it was #Noah though!”

But a major plot hole arose when viewers pointed out that it has never been confirmed Amelia has even had sex – with some calling it an immaculate conception.

Later in the episode, Charity was determined to get to the bottom of Amelia’s pregnancy.

She said: “If it’s not Noah’s, whose is it?”

After Amelia refused to divulge the identity of her sexual partner, Charity added: “I totally get that you don’t want to tell me who it is.

“You don’t have tell him if you don’t want.”

Amelia later informed Charity that the baby’s father was “a random lad from church” and told Noah that the culprit had ‘wanted nothing to do with her since.’

In an emotional conversation with Noah, she also revealed that she ‘wanted to keep the baby’.

Elsewhere, Charity finally informed Mack that she was pregnant, with the couple feuding over whether or not to get an abortion.

Emmerdale airs at 7.30 pm on weekdays on ITV.
