Emmerdale flooded with Ofcom complaints as Meena's gruesome murder plots spark outrage

Emmerdale has been hit with more than 200 complaints from angry ITV viewers due to the ongoing Meena Jutlia storyline.

TV watchdog Ofcom , which handles complaints about radio and TV shows in Britain, received more than 150 complaints in relation to the ITV soap last week.

The broadcast regulator has confirmed that 65 more complaints have been made this week in relation to the episode which aired on January 12 which featured scenes involving serial killer Meena (Paige Sandhu).

In the episode, evil Meena put her plan in place to murder her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson).

Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPherson) started to become worried about Meena’s mental health and when he saw her wrist injury, he told her he knew about her faking her pregnancy and miscarriage.

When the medic realised Meena had lied about her miscarriage, suspicion started to rise and during a showdown, he finally discovered the person he’s been calling a friend and colleague was responsible for murdering his daughter Leena.

Meena later went on to accuse Liam of sexually harassing her.

As the ordeal continued, it looked as though Liam would become Meena’s next victim, but the killer was interrupted by an arriving police officer.

When she returned to the barn, she told Manpreet and Vinny she was speeding up her plans to kill them.

Liam and Jacob Gallagher Joe-Warren Plant) were told by DS Rogers in recent scenes that Meena has gone on the run and probably left the country.

The evil nurse managed to flee the village but is expected to make an explosive return in upcoming scenes.

Meanwhile, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) are busy planning their wedding, something they want to happen as soon as possible.

Unbeknownst to everyone, a jealous Meena is watching from afar.

But what has she got planned this time?

It has been confirmed that Meena will continue to cause havoc in the village “for months”.
