Emmerdale's Sarah Sugden star Katie Hill told to go home by ITV after mix-up

Emmerdale’s Sarah Sugden, played by Katie Hill, was told to go home by ITV studios this week.

The 19-year-old has been part of the popular ITV soap since 2017 but was in for a shock when she seemed to have got her work schedule mixed up.

Katie shared an image to her Instagram story showing the outside of ITV studios before revealing an embarrassing blunder.

She captioned the snap: “Not me turning up to work at 7am to be told I’m not even in today [facepalm emoji]”.

The cast of Emmerdale does not have to go to work every day that filming takes place as they’re given a certain number of episodes per year.

Katie is the fifth actress to play Sarah Sugden, who is the daughter of Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden.

Despite her character in the soap being young, she’s already been through a considerable amount of trauma than most will in a lifetime.

Throughout the majority of her life, Sarah has spent most of her time in and out of hospital after being diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Fanconi anaemia when she was six years old.

Luckily, the actress who plays Sarah leads a much happier life which she often shares with her 60.1k Instagram followers.

Katie has even shocked her fans by showing off her incredible singing voice in the past.

And her little work blunder was also shared with her legion of fans this week.
