Ex-Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon, 42, unrecognisable as she cradles baby bump

Ex-Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon looks unrecognisable a whole 18 years after making her debut on the CBBC show.

The presenter, now 42, is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Will Corrie, and looks totally different from her days as a kids’ TV presenter in the noughties.

Zoe presented Blue Peter from 2004 until 2008, before going on to star in ITV skating competition Dancing On Ice a year later in 2009, where she made the quarter-finals.

She was instantly recognisable by her long blonde hair and penchant for all things arty – including belly dancing on the programme. During her time on the show, Zoe even donned a ‘fat suit’ to confront the social issue of body image in children.

She quit her role in 2008, releasing a statement which explained: “I’ve loved my time on Blue Peter and I’ve had experiences that I never dreamed I could have.

“It’s taken me to places I never thought I would see, from Japan to Iceland, introduced me to people I never dreamt I would meet, from the Queen to David Beckham, and quite literally gave me the opportunity to do things I never thought I would or could do. Life on Blue Peter has been one continuous highlight.

“I grew up watching the iconic show, it’s been an incredible privilege and honour to have been part of the fantastic team and I will always treasure my Blue Peter Badge and memories.”

But now Zoe looks completely different with waist-length mouse brown hair as she prepares to welcome her first child.

Zoe posted a snap to social media as she posed in a strapless red dress made of silk and cradled her blossoming baby bump at Christmas, holding a teddy bear close to her side as she posed in front of the Christmas tree.

The former presenter had a huge smile for the camera as she donned a pair of beige stiletto heels for the occasion.

Northern Irish Zoe, whose baby is due in spring, told her fans: “We are both so excited at the thought of this magical new addition to our family.

“It’s a real fairytale moment for us after such a crazy year and a half and we are so pleased we can share this lovely news with our families and friends.”

The star added that her pregnancy is a “lovely gift”, and the timing is “just perfect”, adding: “I really couldn’t be any happier.”

Since leaving Blue Peter and Dancing On Ice, Zoe has had a few more TV and film roles – including a cameo in the 2010 comedy film Get Him to the Greek as a journalist.

Her last TV appearance came on BBC game show Pointless Celebrities back in 2015. Since then, she has been involved in campaigning for The Sleep Charity, even speaking in Parliament before Covid hit in March 2020 about getting “sleep into our mainstream health dialogue”.

And in addition to her TV career, Zoe is also a trained lawyer.
