General Hospital star Steve Burton claims he's 'not the dad' of his wife's baby

Ex-General Hospital star Steve Burton has confirmed he’s split from his pregnant wife Sheree Gustin and claimed her unborn child isn’t his.

The 51-year-old actor played Jason Morgan on the US soap opera for 30 years before departing the series last year.

Steve has been married to his wife Sheree for 23 years, with the couple sharing three children together, though the pair have recently separated.

Posting to his Instagram stories on Wednesday (May 4), Steve attempted to ‘clear up’ any speculation regarding their marital status and Sheree’s ‘surprise’ pregnancy by stating that the formerly long-term couple are no longer together.

In the short note posted to social media, The Young and the Restless actor also confirmed his currently-expecting spouse is not pregnant with his child.

Steve wrote: “I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated.

“She recently announced that she’s expecting her fourth child. The child is not mine.

“We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids.

“We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve.”

Steve’s post followed Sheree confirming she was expecting her fourth child on social media a number of hours prior.

On Instagram, the nutrition and fitness coach posed with a hand on her baby bump alongside the caption: “Life sure is full of surprises!”

Sheree and Steve married in 1999 and the former beaus share three children – 18-year-old daughter Makena, 16-year-old son Jack and seven-year-old daughter Brooklyn.

While it’s not known what caused the couple to separate, their split follows Steve leaving General Hospital after his refusal to take the Covid-19 vaccine clashed with show policy.

Explaining his exit from the soap on Instagram, Steve wrote previously: “Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate.

“I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied which, you know, hurts.

“But this is also about personal freedom to me.’
