GMB's Ben Shephard scolds Richard Arnold for 'name dropping' on ITV show

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard told off Richard Arnold for name dropping as he was welcomed on the show on Thursday morning.

ITV stars Ben and Richard joined Ranvir Singh on the show as they kicked off the Love Island lowdown – only for Richard to admit he’s not been completely invested in the show.

Richard was told that they would be playing a fire-round game like Mastermind to test his knowledge on the ITV2 dating show, and as he declared he was ready to go, he defended his time away from watching.

Speaking to the hosts Richard began to say that he didn’t watch Wednesday night’s episode, but told the hosts that he was interviewing The Rock and Kevin Hart, adding: “I was doing it for the show so I was still on the job.”

However Ben immediately shut him down and said: “Stop name dropping!”, prompting Richard to clam up.

They swiftly moved past the awkward swipe as they continued to talk about the recent Love Island episodes as Richard was hit with the fire round.

Ranvir told him: “We’ve got some questions for you, Mastermind style, to ease you in.”

Richard responded: “This is why not one person has looked me in the eye this morning. The last time that happened was 12 years ago when I was told the show would be moving on without me.”

They kicked off with the fire-round and Richard managed to get a whopping 10 questions right despite not being completely caught up on the show.

Richard’s appearance on the show comes after he returned following time away in the US.

At the start of July Richard shared snaps from Nashville as he said he was “lucky enough” to head to the famous location ahead of a big interview.

He waved goodbye over the weekend as he said in a post that it was his “final postcard” from Nashville and returned to GMB on Thursday.

Radzi Chinyanganya stepped in for him on the ITV show to share all the Love Island gossip while he was away.

GMB continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
