Gogglebox star exposes her normal job as she takes break from filming Channel 4 show

One of Gogglebox’s newer cast members Jane has revealed what she does for work when she’s not on the sofa with her brother Simon Minty.

The down-to-earth duo, who live in north London, quickly become popular with viewers for their sense of humour and love of healthy snacks.

Not much is known about their personal lives – apart from what they do for work.

Jane revealed she works in a kitchen as she posted a photo of her at work this week. In the snap she held out a plate of homemade cake towards the camera.

Jane wrote: “Homemade cakes at work today …will try and save a piece for Simon to try!! Happy day at work.”

Jane let fans in on her work life

Her brother Simon works as a disability consultant and also co-hosts the BBC podcast Ouch!

The siblings were missed by viewers on last week’s show after they announce they were taking a short break from filming.

They wrote on Instagram: “It’s on tonight! Channel 4 at 9pm. Are you #GoggleboxReady?

“We might not pop up so much this week as we took a week off but you might just get a little bit of us. Luckily you will get a great show with all the brilliant #Gogglebox family. We hope you enjoy it. X”

The siblings have a great bond together

Simon, who was born with short stature and limited mobility, has recently moved house and he opened up online about seeing a counsellor.

In a post, Simon wrote: “Continuing my farewell tour of N8. This is pic is of a cut through which I use when I go to see my counsellor. For the twenty minute scoot from my home, I pop my headphones on, play some music and think about what I want to talk about or explore.

“I also have to try avoid yapping dogs that get excited about my scooter. I often test my skill and try to go full speed through the chicane barriers because I am still immature. It’s one of my favourite times.

The siblings joined Gogglebox in October 2021

“It allows me to pause the world, clarify my mind. On the way home I often feel better, have a better sense of what is happening. I’m a big fan of taking care of your mental well-being.

“Amazingly as I turned in to the alley yesterday, the song that played next was, ‘The Tracks of My Tears’ haha. I wouldn’t have even written that. I will miss this little trip so shall have to create a new one.”
