Good Morning Britain in presenter shakeup as Richard Madeley is replaced by show favourite

Good Morning Britain underwent a presenter shakeup on Wednesday morning (March 30) after Richard Madeley was replaced by money-saving expert Martin Lewis.

During the latest episode, fans were left rather perplexed after presenter Susanna Reid, 51, was forced to present the first hour of the show by herself.

According to reports from The Sun Online, Richard, 65, has been having on-air arguments with Susanna as they appeared to clash over Will Smith’s Oscars slap earlier in the week.

Due to this, I’m A Celeb star Richard, who normally presents the ITV show from Monday to Wednesday, appeared to have cut his days short.

Confused fans who noticed the evident disparity with their normal schedule headed to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Unsure of why Susanna was initially by herself, one viewer asked: “Why is Susanna on her own?”

Another said: “Susanna looks exceptionally smug this morning. Maybe cos she’s got a full hour listening to herself talking.”

Meanwhile, others were left divided about Martin’s appearance on the show, who took the reins from 7am.

One happy viewer penned: “Thank the heavens for Martin Lewis.”

“At least someone is doing everything they can to try and help people with the #CostOfLivingCrisis Martin Lewis is a hero,” another added.

But others weren’t as pleased, as one viewer wrote: “People just wanna hear easy simple stuff. Martin talks like a doctor telling you about Molecular Cell Biology. Will we survive is the question.”

Meanwhile another said: “Can’t be doing with Martin Lewis all morning, he’s got enough shows for all this….”

Susanna told viewers about the switch-up the day before

On Tuesday, Susanna made the announcement to viewers that GMB will broadcast a cost of living special episode.

She said: “With just a few days until the energy price cap goes up by 54 percent, there’s huge concern of course about the impact on energy bills, me and Martin Lewis are going to be doing a GMB special tomorrow morning.”

She added: “I’m wondering whether I should have said Martin Lewis and I. Martin Lewis might have a word with me about that,” she joked.

Martin and Susanna also accepted viewers’ calls, something that has never taken place on the ITV show before.
