He also revealed the side effects had caused him hair loss and left him with sore eyes.

Dave said: “Fortunately, the chemo is working but it’s the effect chemotherapy has on you.

“Everyday is a school day.

“My eyes are sore because my eyelashes have fallen out – it’s crap like that that’s really irritating but I’m getting there.”

After confirming he has more chemotherapy scheduled, Dave said he had been left with a loss of tastes and smells – though had been assured they would return following treatment.

He also informed listeners that the treatment had left him with a “craving for cottage pie and Vimto.”

Of the treatment, Dave added: “I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy but when I get through this, I’ll never whinge again about anything.

“I’m going to embrace life and everything it’s got to offer.

“I can’t eat garlic at the minute, smells are really acute, it’s all gone belly up. I’m told it will come back.”

Last month, Dave was spotted enjoying dinner with Si in London as his long-time co-star continues to support him during his cancer battle.

Confirming his diagnosis previously on he and Si’s own podcast, Dave told fans that his prognosis was “okay” and assured them that he would be fine.

Dave said: “I may be a baldy biker for a while so it’s just a warning, I don’t want to make a fuss about it, I look alright bald actually.”
