'Hell-raising' Harry Potter star came back as ghost and caused a storm, son says

Harry Potter star Richard Harris came back as a ghost and caused a storm, his son claims.

Actor Jared said that his dad, who played Dumbledore in the films, turned into a hurricane that ripped through London the day after he died.

He said: “I remember the day after he died going for a walk in Battersea, and this hurricane hit out of nowhere.

“It hit London and I just thought, to me that was his spirit raging, because he actually loved life, you know? He enjoyed the tempest of life.

“I just felt that there was some part of him that wasn’t ready to leave yet.”

Richard, who was 72 when he died in 2002, shelled out a fortune living in luxury London hotel The Savoy for nearly three decades.

And in new Sky Arts documentary The Ghost Of Richard Harris, Jared visited Room 780 at the lavish spot, which has since been named after his father.

He said: “He had a suite here for like, 28 years or something – where would I find the ghost? Where was he haunting?”

In the film Jared opened up poignantly about his dad’s death from Hodgkin’s disease shortly after filming Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets.

And the Mad Men star, 61, even spent the night in his hotel suite hoping to feel a connection with his dad – and wished his ghost had visited him.

He added: “I would have loved it if he had come and woken me up in the middle of the night and sat and chatted to me, you know? I would have loved it.

His son has continued to find connections to his father in unexpected places

“I do feel as though the light’s dimmed slightly after he went and they’ve never really recovered.

“But I do feel his hell-raising image has taken over everything else. He was much, much bigger than that.”
