Katie Piper's acid attacker on the run as police launch 'urgent' appeal to find him

Katie Piper’s acid attacker is reportedly on the run from police after being recalled to jail for breaching his licence conditions.

Stefan Sylvestre was paroled from prison in 2020 – 11 years after he carried out the vile assault on the activist – and has been warned by officials that he faces more time behind bars after going missing while on licence.

The thug – who left the Loose Women panellist with life-changing facial injuries – was in the process of being recalled to prison for breaching his conditions when he went on the run from police.

A Probation Service spokesman has since told The Mirror that they are working closely with police to imprison the convict once again.

They told the publication: “We are urgently working with the police to bring the offender back to prison where he’ll face longer behind bars.”

Back in 2008, Sylvestre attacked the blonde bombshell, 38, in Golders Green, North London with acid following the orders of her obsessive former boyfriend Daniel Lynch.

He was just 19-years-old at the time of the attack and one year later, he was sentenced to life and told he would serve a minimum of six years.

The convict became eligible for parole back in 2015 but his application was later blocked after he was deemed unfit for release.

But that didn’t stop him from pushing for his release and he submitted a further application in 2018 which was granted and freed under the condition that he stayed away from the mum-of-two.

In 2019, he was recalled to prison over an unrelated incident only to be granted parole just 12 months later and released.

By then, Sylvestre had married mum-of-one Danielle Burke while he lived in jail.

Katie – who was awarded an OBE for charity and burns services – was attacked on the orders of her former obsessive boyfriend Daniel Lynch.

Her ex was jailed for life with a minimum of 16 years and cannot be considered for release until 2025.

The attack left Katie needing 400 operations to treat her serious facial burns.

In her victim impact statement, she said: “When the acid was thrown at me, it felt like I was burning in hell. It was an indescribable, unique, torturous pain.

“I have lost my future, my career, my spirit, my body, my looks, my dignity… the list goes on. All I am left with is an empty shell. A part of me has died that will never come back. This is worse than death.”
