Kylie Jenner's net worth compared to other Kardashians and her billionaire 'web of lies'

Kylie Jenner is celebrating her 25th birthday today (August 10).

The young reality star and business woman has already had huge success when it comes to her career.

She’s built up a massive 365 million followers on Instagram, launched her own beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics, and now has her own skincare company, Kylie Skincare, too.

Earlier this year, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner family also welcomed her second child, a baby boy.

Through her reality TV fame and business ventures, Kylie Jenner has racked up a massive fortune.

But her wealth has been the subject of a lot of controversy too, after she was accused of lying about how much she was really worth.

Here’s everything you need to know about Kylie Jenner’s net worth.

What is Kylie Jenner’s net worth?

In 2019, Forbes reported that Kylie Jenner had become the youngest self-made millionaire ever as it estimated her fortune at $1billion (£825.7million).

But just a year later, Kylie was struck from the magazine’s list of billionaires as it claimed it had been misled by the Jenner family who spun a “web of lies”.

The mag said: “Kylie’s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe.”

The revelation was made after Kylie sold 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics to beauty giant Coty in a deal that was valued at $1.2billion (£990million).

But Kylie’s financial details, which were released in filings by Coty, painted a very different picture of her success.

Revenue from the year before the deal was listed as $177million (£146million), which was far lower than the published estimates at the time.

Coty also said that sales were up 40% from 2018, meaning the business generated about $125million (£103million) that year. Forbes reporters that the Jenners had led them to believe that the 2018 sales figure was $360million (£297million).

Forbes also claimed that Kylie’s reps told it her skin care line did $100million (£82million) in revenue in its first six weeks, but Coty’s filings showed that the line was actually “on track” to finish the year with a cooler $25million (£20million) in sales.

Kylie and Kris’s representatives sent a letter to Forbes denying the allegations, saying: “The accusations that the Jenners, and/or their accountants, falsified tax returns and then lied about their 2016 revenues for the last four years, are absolutely false.”

But based on the new information and the impact of Covid-19, in 2020 Forbes reported it no longer believed Kylie Jenner was a billionaire and estimated her personal fortune at just under $900million (£743million) instead.

However, as of 2022, Forbes has now dropped Kylie Jenner’s estimated fortune to $600million (£495million).

The richest Kardashian sibling is currently Kim Kardashian.

Last year, Kim joined Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list for the first time.

In April 2021, it estimated the reality star was worth $1billion (£825.7million), which was a massive $780million (£644million) up from October.

The huge increase in her wealth was down to two lucrative businesses, KKW Beauty and Skims, as well as reality TV endorsement deals and some small investments.

As of 2022, Forbes now estimates Kim’s net worth at a jaw-dropping $1.8billion (£1.4billion) and she is number 16 on the magazine’s list of America’s Self-Made Women.

Kim Kardashian is now the only billionaire in the Kardashian clan, after it was revealed that Kylie was not actually a billionaire.

But Kylie’s current estimated $600million wealth does mean that she comes in second when it comes to Kardashian-Jenner fortunes.

Although the other Kardashians aren’t quite as rich, each of them still have considerable million-dollar fortunes.

The third wealthiest in the family is momager Kris Jenner, who has a current estimated fortune of $230million (£189million) according to Forbes.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kourtney Kardashian has an estimated net worth of $65million (£53million), while Khloe’s wealth is estimated at a slightly lower figure of $60million (£49million).

Next up is Kendall Jenner, who has an estimated net worth of $45million (£37million).

Even the lesser-known Kardashian brother, Rob Kardashian, has a considerable estimated net worth of $10million (£8.2million).
