Love Island fans rage as ITV bosses axe 'iconic' show format despite Casa Amor drama

Love Island bosses caused a stir last night by axing their famous “Casa Amor” postcard stunt.

Fans expected TV chiefs to send a picture card to the boys in the main villa showing them what their TV partners had been up to in the neighbouring pad.

In the past, the snaps – giving glimpses of their other halves cheating on them – sent everyone into meltdown.

Viewers had plastered excited social media comments about the carnage it would cause this year such as “Just send in the postcard!”, “Wait til Indiyah sees the card with Dami kissing Summer” and “They’ll need a brochure not a postcard to show all the action”.

However last night, no postcard arrived and the stunt was ditched.

Both sets of contestants in the main villa and also “temptation villa” Casa Amor were left in the dark about what each other had been up to.

Instead Love Island host Laura Whitmore – who has not set foot in the villa since day one some 31 days ago – turned up to surprise the gang.

Sporting pink hair, she told them it was time to decide whether to “stick or twist” – keep their original partner or dump them for someone new.

Viewers won’t find out until Thursday night leaving fans of the ITV2 dating show fuming.

One fan penned: “Recoupling already, where’s the iconic postcards?”

Another added: “Listen I know it’s this is a toxic trait but I need love island to come back with the postcard thing rapid.”

A third person posted: “So they decided to add all the extra villa footage but didn’t have time for a postcard reveal.”

There is plenty of scope for heartache and fall-outs.

Tasha Ghouri has had doubts about Andrew Le Page and has been enjoying “great kisses” with new boy Billy Brown.

But Andrew already thinks he’s been made to look a fool by Tasha so he has been locking lips Coco Lodge.
