Love Island Liam Llewellyn's dad flies to meet him as son's 'worst fear' makes him quit

Love Island star Liam Llewellyn’s dad has flown out to Majorca to support him after he dramatically left the Love Island villa after only four days.

Liam, 22, quit the hit ITV dating show because it “wasn’t for him”, he told his fellow contestants.

His experience got off to a rocky start after his partner Gemma Owen was “stolen” from him by newcomer Davide Sanclimenti.

Liam was then offered a lifeline when two new stunners joined but sadly, sparks refused to fly and both girls admitted they didn’t fancy the hunky Welshman.

It is believed that his dad has flown out to the island to support him.

A source told The Sun: “Liam’s confidence was totally knocked when he lost Gemma so when he then also didn’t manage to catch Ekin-Su or Afia’s eye he started to totally overthink everything he did.

“He just began to worry about everything and then felt guilty that he wasn’t enjoying the whole experience like he felt he was meant to, so-called it quits.”

The source added: “At this point, Liam feels really upset. His dad David flew straight out to Majorca to be with him.”

His departure left fans a bit perplexed – after all, he knew the rules before going on the show.

His sister Gemma, who has been running his Instagram account – has been answering some queries.

One asked: “What made Liam want to go on Love Island?”

Georgia replied: “They approached him in January and it started from there.”

In dramatic scenes, Liam told the other Islanders: “Obviously we all came here for the same sort of reason, but I haven’t been giving 100 per cent Liam. I know what 100 per cent Liam is and I’m miles off that.

“Trying to find someone you leave the villa with that you love, that’s the goal. But when you’re not feeling that, it makes it a very hard sort of time to find that. I’ve been thinking long and hard, it isn’t spur of the moment, so I’ve made a decision I’m going to leave the villa.”

Gemma, daughter of footballer Michael Owen, said she felt “proper guilty”.

She added to Liam: “I wasn’t expecting that from you.

“It’s just a shame because we started it together and it will be weird not having you around, I do care for you and it will be weird.”
