Machine Gun Kelly says he designed Megan Fox's ring to 'hurt if she takes it off'

Machine Gun Kelly has admitted that he designed Megan Fox’s engagement ring to hurt her if she ever took it off.

The performer – real name Colson Baker – proposed to Megan, 35, earlier this month in a romantic setting where they first fell in love.

The Hollywood actress quickly accepted her 31-year-old beau’s proposal, made with a bespoke engagement ring he designed himself.

Now he has admitted there is more to the stunning emerald and diamond ring than meets the eye, explaining how it acts as a crown of thorns if Megan was to try and take it off.

In an interview with Vogue, he said: “The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings.

“When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So, if she tries to take it off, it hurts.”

He apparently chose to design the ring in that way because “love is pain”.

The lavish design includes what Machine Gun Kelly says is a “thoroughbred Colombian emerald” that was “just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine”.

The precious stone was joined together with a diamond from ring designer Stephen Webster, with her birthstone represented by the emerald, and his by the diamond.

Megan announced their engagement with a touching yet bizarre Instagram post where she claimed they had drunk each other’s blood to celebrate.

She wrote: “In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time.

“Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.

“Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him.”

She added: “And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes…and then we drank each other’s blood.”
