Major I'm A Celebrity format shake-up will make final 'easier' says Nicola McLean

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Nicola McLean has share her thoughts on the ITV show finale switch-up plans.

The 2008 series star exclusively told Daily Star what she thought about the grand finale twist.

Nicola, 41, said: “Well, I’ll be honest it makes it sound like I’m being a downer but I think it’s easier being for people as I’m a natural show off, so if I was on my own and you’re just fighting for just your meal then I would be inclined to say ‘do you know what leave it, that’s disgusting’.

“In front of people I’d be competitive and do it, I think it will push people on more.

“It’s good to change things and try different things and to give other campmates a bit of entertainment and hopefully give us some more banter.

“Because I can imagine Mike being hilarious when other people are going through trauma in a funny way, not a bad way.

“I’m all for it but it would make them less likely to do it it would spur me on.”

Bosses decided to pile on the pressure in the show’s final by making the stars do their final bushtucker trials facing each other.

They want to add extra jeopardy to the final three trials of the series.

One TV source said: “The trials in this year’s finale show will be the most competitive and dramatic ever.

“They are hard enough doing them to win a course for the final meal in camp, but now they will have the added pressure of looking their fellow campmates in the eyes as they try to win stars.”

They added: “On top of that in the final some people will be thinking about the prospect of being king or queen, so they’ll be watching knowing if the person is doing well or looking good they could be watching the moment someone else wins the series.

“It will add pressure but also be fascinating to see the body language of the trio. I wouldn’t want to go last waiting around and then having all the pressure on you to finish off the job.”

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV and ITV Hub
