Matt Hancock “could land Celebrity Big Brother stint” following exit from politics, says an expert.
On Wednesday, December 7, Matt announced that when the next general election takes place, he will stand down as an MP.
The former health secretary, 44, recently caused an uproar among the nation when he starred on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! alongside the likes of Boy George, Seann Walsh and Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott.

While in the jungle as a campmate, discussions were had far and wide about Matt’s future in politics.

And despite the West Suffolk MP adamant that he would have had the whip returned to him in due course, he has now decided to stand down from politics.
So could this huge career U-turn mean Matt makes it big on the television? Especially considering he believes he has found “new ways to reach people” since his stint in the jungle.
PR expert Jake Holyoak exclusively told Daily Star: “I think he will absolutely go the TV route, and with sentiment towards him clearly on the up he’s probably enjoying his life more now that he’s more respected than ‘Matt Hancock the politician’ was.”

He added: “I don’t think he’s quite Love Island type material, but I never thought he was I’m A Celeb type either, so who knows!”
Jake went on to say that he reckons Matt would be a good fit for the likes of weekend television shows such as Saturday Kitchen or Sunday Brunch.
“In terms of reality TV, it would be great to see him in the likes of Gogglebox and Big Brother wouldn’t it? Like when George Galloway pretended to be a cat in Big Brother…I’d pay good money to see a Matt Hancock re-creation of that incident,” Jake concluded.

Tom from FizzBox, who is another PR expert, added that because Matt “didn’t moan during tasks” during his I’m A Celeb stint, the public opinion of him has “slowly and reluctantly” changed over the time span of him being on the show.
He also explained that although Matt will likely have a lot of TV opportunities, they won’t “last long after shows such as this, normally having a 12 month period of peak shows, before it becomes smaller shows with smaller pay cheques”.
