Michael Owen's daughter Gemma looks completely different in throwback family snap

Love Island’s Gemma Owen looks unrecognisable in a throwback family snap that includes her football legend dad Michael Owen, 42.

The 19-year-old reality TV star has recently entered the Love Island villa and has continued to have heads turning on the saucy ITV show.

Gemma, the youngest contestant to participate in the beloved dating show this year, looked very different in an old photo ex-professional footballer dad Michael uploaded to Instagram.

Michael shared a lovely family snap where Gemma is seen wearing a black and white patterned dress months before she entered the saucy Mallorcan villa.

In the adorable picture, Gemma posed alongside her dad Michael, mum Louise, 42, brother James, 16, younger sister Emily, 14, and her youngest sister, Jessica, 12.

The Owen family dressed to impress as they were suited and booted for a wedding as Michael’s caption read: “Wedding guests”.

It comes after dad Michael, who played for the England national team, said daughter Gemma going on Love Island is his “worst nightmare.”

The ex-England striker, 42, made the admission after Gemma confessed that her dad isn’t “buzzing” about her living in the villa with a bunch of randy blokes.

He said: “I have no doubts that she will make us all proud.

“It’s probably a father’s worst nightmare, but whatever she wants to do you’ve got to be supportive.”

He added about being willing to watch the show despite it being notorious for showing contestants having sex: “It’s been different without her in the house.

“I’ve got other kids and my wife and it’s been quite tough because she’s had to switch her phone off and we’ve had no contact for a couple of weeks so that’s been the hard bit.

“I’ve heard a lot about it.”

Jet-setter Gemma, who is a Team GB dressage champion, also has her own swimwear company and insisted she launched it in lockdown 2020 without the need of a cash injection from her dad.
