Molly-Mae Hague says she's so famous she hires staff to stop people taking snaps of her

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed that horror paparazzi shots are such a problem that she hires her own team to prevent paps from taking pics of her on holiday.

The PLT creative director has opened up about how low she felt after having some of, in her opinion, unflattering shots of her in a bikini shared online while in Barbados a couple of years ago.

However, the reality star has now hired a team to make sure that it never happens again.

Talking to Steven Bartlett on The Diary Of A CEO podcast, Molly-Mae said: “We’re always on pap watch and if we go away on a campaign we literally have someone that has a job to specially to look out for people taking pictures so it doesn’t happen again because it was quite bad.”

The successful influencer opened up about her “low moment” and confessed that she had no idea that the pictures were being taken of her at the time.

She continued: “There was this one time when we went to Barbados to shoot a campaign for my fake tan business and we were followed the whole trip by paparazzi, we didn’t even realise!

“They were posing as like architectural photographers in front of this building and I did think at one point ‘Is that guy taking pictures of me?’

“But I just thought no way he’s taking pictures of the building behind me.”

Molly explained: “It was just horrendous, people calling me fat, overweight, and I’m a size eight, so it made me so upset to think that if people are calling me overweight… a very normal size 10 girl, what are they going to be thinking if I’m being called fat?

“It’s heartbreaking. The whole trolling thing I have kind of dealt with it now, I’m really good at dealing with it.

“I sort of have this approach of if it doesn’t matter, people can say what they want to say, they are genuinely so unhappy in their lives that they try and bring you down. It’s so sad, but you do learn to do deal with it.”

The 22-year-old has become one of Love Island’s biggest success stories after shooting to fame in the fifth series.

Her impressive career has gone from strength to strength and she now boats 6.2m followers on Instagram.

The star owns her own fake tan company Filter and was made creative director of fashion brand Pretty Little Thing last year.

This comes after Molly-Mae was recently blasted over other comments she made during the podcast, where she insisted that “we all have the same 24 hours in the day”.

The business women’s comments irritated fans with claims she was being “tone deaf” as they believed she was ignoring social inequality – however, this was not her intent.

On Monday night, Molly-Mae issued a public apology after losing 40k followers.

Molly stated on Instagram: “I completely appreciate that things can affect different people in different ways however I just want to stress that I would never intend to hurt or upset anyone by anything that I say or do.

“I apologise to the people that have been affected negatively or misunderstood the meaning of what I said in the podcast.

“The intentions of the podcast were only ever to tell my story and inspire from my own experience.”
