Moment Loose Women's Linda Robson 'refuses to clap' as Holly and Phil won NTA gong

Linda Robson “didn’t bother to clap” when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield won a gong at the National Television Awards on Thursday night (October 13).

The Loose Women panellist refused to clap when the duo swooped up the gong at the ceremony in London for This Morning as Best Daytime Show for the fifth year.

Seemingly showing her feelings about the duo to the rest of the nation on live TV, this followed a huge amount of national backlash that Holly and Phil received last month.

The beloved ITV daytime duo went to Westminster Hall in September to see Queen Elizabeth II lying-in-state following her sad passing on September 8.

Then an outpouring of accusations that Holly and Phil “jumped the queue” flooded social media, where people questioned their actions because many people waited upwards of 13 hours – even the likes of David Beckham.

It clearly didn’t, and doesn’t, sit right with Linda either because she looked very unimpressed when the pair scooped up an award and headed on-stage to accept it.

When it was announced that This Morning had picked up an award, Phil and Holly embraced each other and the camera then panned around the venue.

64-year-old Linda didn’t hide her emotions and the former Birds of a Feather star sat stone faced and still while others around her applauded and smiled.

Fans were quick to pick up on the lack of congratulation from Linda, with one writing: “Yes. Loved that Linda Robson didn’t bother to clap she looked quite p**sed off.”

Another went on to add: “Even the #LooseWomen weren’t impressed when #ThisMorning won.”

The This Morning Twitter page posted a clip of when Holly and Phil won the gong, which left one fan asking: “Well done. But anyone else notice How rude were some of the loose women presenters were not even clapping or smiling ! @loosewomen.”

To which someone replied: “Linda Robson had a face like thunder.”

Last month This Morning issued a statement about the accusations, where they defended the the anchors.

“Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something,” the statement which was posted on the show’s Instagram page read.

“We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.

“They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on an event.”
