This comes after fans were left fuming the website crashed moments after the initial batch of tickets went live.

Peter had previously taken a five-year hiatus from the spotlight and gave his loyal followers just 24 hours’ notice before dropping tickets.

However, fans were quick to fume about their O2 Priority access as it was made increasingly difficult to get their hands on pre-sale tickets due to the website crashing.

A spokesperson for Virgin Media O2 said: “We’ve seen unprecedented levels of visitors to our Priority platform for Peter Kay tickets. As a result, some customers are experiencing difficulties trying to use the app and website despite us putting additional resource in place to help cope with such demand.

“We apologise and we’re doing everything we can to get it back up and running as soon as possible.”
