Phillip Schofield puts himself forward for Prime Minister as he poses outside Number 10

Phillip Schofield has put himself forward to be Britain’s next Prime Minister following Liz Truss’ bombshell resignation on Thursday (October 20).

The position is currently up for grabs after the 47-year-old stepped down from the role, making her the shortest serving PM in history.

And it seems the This Morning presenter has decided to throw his name into the mix after taking to his Instagram on Friday (October 21) and sharing a snap of himself outside 10 Downing Street.

The 41-year-old also put in her bid for the role on Instagram, telling her 2.2 million followers she would make an “amazing” PM.

Standing in front of a fake Downing Street, the reality star presented her followers with plenty of appealing promises which included “eight weeks of guaranteed paid holiday per year” along with “lunch and drinks every Friday.”
