Platinum Jubilee fans baffled by 'live' ITV show as adverts interrupt proceedings

ITV fans were disbelieving that The Queens Jubilee Celebrations which were broadcasted on Sunday night (May 15) had actually been live.

Many viewers became sceptical that the momentous production to mark The Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee on June 5 had not been as it seemed.

Eagle-eyed folk at home wondered what happened to the live show each time the advertisements and commentary was being aired.

One person ranted: “#itv is the Jubilee live…or is it not – too many adverts and too much commentary.”

Another questioned: “I’m confused. I sat down to watch the Queens Jubilee concert…LIVE. So far, presenters conversations, adverts, and intervals. Does everything just stop for 10 minutes?”

While a third chirped in: “It cannot be live, they’ve gone into the adverts showing what’s happening after the break. Oh well.”

Meanwhile, further confusion was in store for those watching from the comfort of their own homes.

Many were baffled that Hollywood actor Tom Cruise appeared on the programme alongside host Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham.

Taking to social media, fans question why the American actor had a slot on the show to honour the UK’s Queen.

However, it wasn’t just online users who were shocked by his unlikely visit to Windsor.

Even Philip Schofield wanted to know why the Mission Impossible actor had made a special trip to attend The Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations on Sunday night.

Phillip asked the famous movie star: “What made you say yes to this one?”

Tom replied: “Well I was just very honoured, she’s just a woman that I greatly admire.

“I think she’s someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion and what she has accomplished has been historic.”

It later transpired that Tom had been completely mobbed by fans on-route after he’d decided to walk to Windsor on foot.
