Police turn up at Will Smith's California mansion following Chris Rock slap at Oscars

Police have been sighted at Will Smith’s mansion just days after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022.

A public information officer for Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed Will called the Police himself, according to The Sun.

After the scandal that sent shockwaves on social media, Los Angeles’ Police arrived at Will’s Calabasas mansion on Tuesday (March 29) afternoon.

It comes days after Will, 53, stormed up on stage at the Oscars and smacked Chris Rock, 57, in the face following a quip aimed at his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, 50.

While presenting for the best documentary feature category, the comedian decided to throw a jibe about Jada’s shaved head, comparing her to “GI Jane”, causing Will to get violent.

In the statement, Will said: “Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes a my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.

“There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

Following the ceremony, Chris refused to press charges against the Oscar award-winning actor.

Will’s actions have been condemned by the Academy.
