Rising Stars: The Tyne tease collab with The Vamps' Connor Ball ahead of debut EP

Rising stars The Tyne have already made shockwaves across the UK but have teased a major collaboration ahead of the release of their debut EP.

Ryan, Cooper and Josh have recently completed a UK tour supporting The Lunar Year, fronted by none other than The Vamps’ Connor Ball.

Now, the trio have hinted that there may be room for a potential collaboration between them and Connor’s music project, The Lunar Year, with Sasa Macek.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star at Slam Dunk Festival, Cooper said: “I don’t know, maybe a content collab, songwriting I don’t know if they would want?

“We might write with them someday, we really like those guys – the nicest guys ever.”

Reflecting on touring with Connor and Sasa, they said: “It was really fun just doing smaller venues and the crowds were great and jumpy, it was really fun.

The group who have amassed over 403,000 followers on TikTok spoke about the app, saying: “Social media definitely helps especially if you’re trying to approach a label.

“Especially if you don’t have music out, it shows you have a little fanbase, it’s a good platform, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s the most important platform but it definitely helped us get to where we are now.

“We got really lucky with that, it was probably a year after lockdown started when we started to pick up on followers.

“We got a good thing going with covers and it was something we could do everyday.”

Discussing their upcoming single, No Plans, they said: “It got a good reception, it’s got a pop-punk beat to it, people seem to like it.

“I think it’s one one of our best out of all the songs we have, so I’m hoping people like it.”

They added: “It’s the night before, I don’t think about it until we’re sat there like ‘Oh it’s coming out’.”

“It will be a nice surprise if it does really well, our fanbase isn’t huge at the moment so it’s not the biggest blow,” added Cooper.

He continued: “We’ve been working on an EP, it’s all recorded, four songs, so we’ll be dropping a few singles from that, working on new music.

“Hopefully we’ll be doing some more shows this year, that would be good.”

But despite being signed to the same management team as The Vamps, the trip don’t feel as though they’re hit with pressure to compete against the group.

“It’s self-pressure, there’s no pressure on us, we have a great time but in our heads, it’s a bit like ‘We’ve got to try it’, we’ll hopefully someday get to a level that huge,” explained Cooper.

No Plans is available to pre-save ahead of its release on June 15, here.

Their EP, Born On The Internet via Slam Dunk Records is out on August 4.
