Rylan Clark makes a cheeky swipe at Alex Jones as he returns to BBC’s The One Show

Rylan Clark was back with a bang as he made his return to The One Show this evening after he made a cheeky swipe at his co-host Alex Jones.

The telly favourite returned to the green sofas after a short break and left fans in stitches when he appeared to make a jab at his Welsh presenting partner.

As the BBC show kicked off, Alex welcomed Rylan back saying: “It’s so nice to see you.”

Rylan then asked: “What’s going on, you miss me?” The pair began to speak over each other, with Alex replying “Always! Goes without saying.”

But the star then seemed to take a cheeky dig at the regular host as he joked: “Took too long to answer but it is good to be back.”

Viewers on Twitter were delighted to see the former X Factor star back on telly.

One posted: “Brilliant to see Rylan back, he’s hilarious.” A second agreed: “Ok. @Rylan and @MissAlexjones on #TheOneShow e.v.e.r.y day please! A joyous start to a show. Rylan is brilliant!”

He returned to The One Show a couple of weeks later to update fans on his health status,

Posting on Twitter at the time, the former Strictly Come Dancing host shared a photo of himself hooked up to a cannula alongside the caption: “Finally home after an extended trip to Costa del hospital. Slowly on the mend.”

Despite not disclosing his reasons, Rylan has however been vocal about his mental health recently having admitted his struggles since splitting with his husband Dan Neal.

He told singer-songwriter Ella Henderson on his Ry-union podcast: “Mental health is so prevalent, it’s one of those that things people are talking more and more openly about which, I never in my life thought that I would go through a crisis like that.”
