Simon Cowell shows off bright pink stabilisers from Amanda Holden after horror accident

Amanda Holden wasn’t joking when she told her Heart FM listeners that she has bought fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell a set of stabilisers for his bike.

She took to Instagram on Sunday (February 6) to show them off – and, in true Mandy style, couldn’t resist opting for a set of bright pink wheels.

Simon, for his part, looked chuffed to be receiving the present from his showbiz pal, and his grin could be seen despite the grey face mask he had donned behind the scenes of Britain’s Got Talent auditions.

In another snap, Simon and Amanda posed close together, both grinning hugely at the camera as Amanda rocked a nearly sheer white blouse, with a pair of dark shades perched atop her head.

Simon opted for a zip-up black jacket, with his neon yellow arm cast still visible.

Captioning the set of snaps, Amanda cheekily wrote: “So I bought @simoncowell some stabilisers” with a cry-laughing emoji.

She added an arrow to the bright pink wheels and wrote: “He loved them!”

It comes after Amanda told her loyal Heart FM listeners about her plans to gift Simon the training wheels, explaining to co-host Ashley Roberts: “We spoke about the fact that Simon Cowell had another accident on his bike didn’t we… now he said he’s not going to get on bikes ever again, which I think is a smart thing to do.”

Ashley added: “Unless he gets a little tricycle with a bell, where he can ring and warn people.”

Amanda then revealed: “That’s true, although I did order, I’ve ordered him some stabilisers, I’m seeing him on Sunday, I’m going to give them to him. I’ll video it.”

She added that it’s also a good idea for him to take a cycling proficiency test.

It comes after Simon was rushed to hospital after a terrifying e-bike crash, admitting to MailOnline: “I’m a bit of a nutter. I’ll definitely wear a helmet next time.”

He had a suspected concussion, facial cuts and a broken arm after the incident.

It’s far from his first accident, as in 2020 he broke three vertebrae in his back, missing his spinal cord by just a centimetre after falling from the bike onto a concrete floor.

Simon was forced to undergo six hours of surgery to have a metal rod put into his back.

After the incident, Simon explained on Extra TV: “I knew I’d broken my back the minute I landed. It was really, really kind of sudden and it hurt.

“I’ve got to be honest with you, it wasn’t that bad actually breaking your back. I mean it wasn’t great for three to four weeks, but after that you get through it […] I actually feel better than I did before the accident.”
