Taking a break from training on BBC Radio Scotland on Wednesday (October 19), the Countryfile star admitted that Saturday night’s performance was “electrifying”.

Hamza admitted: “It was absolutely electrifying – both me and Jowita didn’t know what was about to happen.

“Rehearsals didn’t go particularly well, that night as soon as the music started, we had a few hurdles we had to get over.”

He went on to tell the Loose Women panellist that he “nearly dropped” his dance partner during the difficult dress rehearsals hours before the live performance.

He confessed: “You know the one thing that’s really beautiful is that she said at the beginning of training was ‘I feel safe in your arms when you lift me’ and as the person doing the lifting that’s all you can ever hope for.

“And that makes me feel comfortable, even though we had a few wobbles and I nearly dropped her one time but I caught her.”

Jovita addedsed: “Honestly I’ve got the best partner I could ever wish for and I’m so proud of him.

“Like he said the week wasn’t easy but whatever he’s done on Saturday night – I was surprised as well! I was like, ‘Where’s Hamza? Who is Hamza?” she joked.
