Strictly’s Max George shows off sweet tribute tattoo to late bandmate Tom Parker

Max George has showed off his sweet tribute tattoo for his late The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker to celebrate what would have been his 34th birthday.

Back in March, the beloved boyband singer sadly died nearly two years after he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and it’s fair to say his passing rocked millions of his adoring fans and famous friends up and down the country.

To celebrate his late friend’s special day, the former Strictly star got Tom’s birth date ‘04.08.1988’ permanently inked on his chest just below his left collarbone.

Clearly happy with his latest artwork, the singer stood topless, wearing nothing but a silver chain necklace and a pair of sunglasses as he shared the small tattoo with his 334k Instagram followers alongside a sweet tribute to his late friend.

He captioned the carousel of snaps: “04.08.1988 [black heart emoji] Happy Birthday brother … You’re always with me.”

The artist was soon flooded with a wave of sweet messages from his loving fans online as he celebrated his friend’s birthday in the best way possible.

Tom first learnt of his terminal condition back in October 2020, where he and his wife Kelsey bravely decided to share every step of his cancer journey online in an effort to raise finds and awareness for brain cancers.

It comes after Max revealed how he still texts his late bandmate in the months after his death during an appearance on This Morning.

He confessed that he find comfort in sending Tom’s phone photos from fans as he continues to process his passing, but admitted he occasionally forgets the singer has died when he messages him.

Max said: “I’m still trying to process it, I still text him actually. If I get pictures of stuff that fans have made with him in it or they send a nice message to do with Tom, I’ll WhatsApp it to him.

“I just find a bit of comfort in that. The worst bit is when I’m not doing it and I do it accidentally. Sometimes I go to do it and I’m like, ‘Oh no’.”
