Susanna Reid reacts as Ranvir Singh's GMB replacement is announced after exit

Susanna Reid reacted to the news that her Good Morning Britain co-star Ranvir Singh has stepped down from her role as political editor.

The 44-year-old broadcaster announced the news that she had left the position back in December 2021 after more than four years in the role.

But in recent months, the star has decided to step back from the senior role in order to explore other opportunities outside of the show.

On Thursday (March 17), the 51-year-old took to Twitter to congratulate Louisa James who will be joining GMB as their new political correspondent.

Senior Political Producer, Anne shared the exciting news with her loyal legion of fans on the micro-blogging site this morning.

She wrote: “Delighted that @LouisaJamesITV is joining Good Morning Britain’s politics team as Political Correspondent, taking over from @ranvir01.

“She’s experienced, hard working and obsessed with politics. Think she’ll do well with me and @kieronishere. Welcome to the (mad) House Louisa.”

After she spotted the announcement on the social media platform, the broadcaster was quick to pass on her congratulations.

The mum-of-two penned: “Congratulations @LouisaJamesITV” which Louisa quickly replied: “Thank you, Susanna.”

Ranvir also reacted to the exciting news as she penned: “Super happy about this xxx” with fellow GMB star Charlotte Hawkins commented: “Great news – congratulations Louisa!!”

Former GMB producer Erron Gordon wrote: “VERY well deserved! Congratulations @LouisaJamesITV congrats on the new role. You’ll smash it!”

Sally Biddulph chimed in with: “Way to go @LouisaJamesITV congrats on the new role. You will be fab. Enjoy #westminster.”

Ranvir first joined the popular ITV morning show during its launch in 2014 and went on to take a more senior role behind the scenes just three years later.

But now the star has decided to remain as a main presenter on the show alongside the slew of other presenters including Susanna, Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

In recent months, the starlet gone on to show off her presenting skills after she took over from Lorraine Kelly on her show for a brief stint during the summer last year.

She later went on to appear as a guest presenter on ITV’s Loose Women over the winter period.
