The Chase viewers distracted by contestant's 'strange' outfit choice in ITV show first

The Chase viewers have taken to Twitter to express their confusion following the latest episode of the ITV show.

One contestant, 30-year-old Alex from Droitwich, appeared to have forgotten to wear a vital piece of clothing as she attempted to take down Chaser Mark Labbett.

Bradley welcomed Alex up to the podium and she explained that she would use her prize money to take her husband to Mauritius, where they went on their honeymoon.

After the usual pleasantries 61 year old Bradley began to quiz her with general knowledge questions, but some eagle eyed viewers were left baffled by her strange outfit choice.

Many fans were surprised at the fact that Alex seemed to have forgotten her shoes, with many tweeting out about their confusion.

One viewer said: “Is that woman on the chase not wearing shoes?”

“How has she forgotten her shoes?!” observed another fan, while a third person said: “Looks like she has no shoes on, that’s very strange.”

“I hope Alex wins some money, she needs to get herself some shoes,” a fourth social media user joked.

A fifth shocked fan commented: “How on earth can you just forget your shoes?”

Alex answered seven questions correctly, which left her with £7,000 to take through to the next round.

Her fellow contestants, 74 year old Hilary and 56 year old John, were also successful and added similar amounts to the cash pot.

Unfortunately their teammate Ben was knocked out and was unable to help them during the final leg of the show.

The team of three made it through to the final round with a total potential prize of £23,000. They then answered 18 questions correctly, which put a heavy lead between them and today’s Chaser Mark Labbett.

Mark stalled on a few questions and answered four wrong, which pushed him back a considerable amount, but unfortunately he took the team out with just seconds to spare.

He answered his final question with three seconds on the clock and exclaimed “Get in there!” as he realised his victory.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
