The Chase viewers distracted by player's unusual outfit choice on ITV game show

A contestant quickly became the talk of the town during the latest episode of The Chase after he wore a kilt on the popular ITV show.

Mark from London distracted viewers with his striking ensemble but baffled fans with the reason for his outfit.

When talking to presenter Bradley Walsh about his attire, Mark told the host that he had Scottish heritage.

But fans were left rather confused when he got a question based on Scotland wrong.

Jumping onto Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on the contestant.

One person wrote: “Claims he’s a Campbell hence why he is wearing a kilt. Lives in London, asked what he’d do with his cash, ‘I’ll buy me a Mini with a union jack on the roof!’

“1st question: name the only Government in the UK NOT to have a devolved Parliament ‘Scotland’? He replied.”

Another said: “Imagine trying that hard to look eccentric!”

A third joked: “This bloke looks like he should be in Austin Powers.”

While a fourth added: “I fully expected Mark to say he was a hypnotist – look into my eyes, look into my eyes.”

Despite his appearance, Mark certainly left viewers stunned with his incredible performance.

After answering only four questions correctly in the cash builder round, viewers were gobsmacked when he decided to go for the higher offer of £24,000 that chaser Shaun Ryder presented to him.

With fans left on the edges of their seats, Mark did very well for himself as he managed to make it back to the rest of his team unscathed.

But although Mark was brave enough to go for the higher proposition, his other team mates weren’t so keen.

Viewers at home turned their noses up at a contestant named Laura who went for the lower offer of £1,000 despite gaining £5,000 in her cash builder.

Frustrated by the scenes, fans headed straight to Twitter again to share their thoughts on the bubbly player.

Fans were annoyed with Laura’s decision

One person wrote: “5 GRAND BANKED AND TAKES A 1K LOW OFFER WHYYYYYYYY.”

While another fan believed she should have gone even higher and wrote: “She should have went for 30k , your only there once.”

With three members left in the final, the contestants all gave a strong performance but luck was not on their side as the Chaser was able to catch them with seconds to spear.
