The Voice's Jamie Miller shares rare insight into friendship with Jennifer Hudson

Jamie Miller wowed the nation with his impressive vocals when he appeared on The Voice UK back in 2017 after performing James Bay’s song Let It Go.

Over the course of his time on the show, Jamie, 24, left the judges stunned on a weekly basis as he continued to progress through the ITV talent competition.

After impressing the judges and fans, Jamie made it through to the grand final where he performed Justin Bieber’s mega-hit, What Do You Mean.

Now, six years after his stint, Jamie has exclusively revealed that he’s in frequent contact with his coach Jennifer Hudson who remains an inspiration to him.

He told Daily Star: “Even to this day we still stay in touch, she’s one of the most loveliest humans I’ve ever met.

“She’s been really instrumental in advice and I was texting her just a few weeks ago – she’s so lovely and working with her and her talent is incredible but knowing her as a person is just totally different.

“You see through the heart, you hear the stories, she really cares about me, it’s been incredible getting to know her and her protecting me.”

The Welsh star added: “Me and my manager were in New York just a few months ago and we were walking down the street and bumped into her.

“It’s crazy how life works out and I’m just pinching myself.”

Jamie continued: “Behind the scenes, I just saw her as Jennifer, she just made me feel good and feel like I deserved to be there and she gave me advice that I look upon now.

“I’m very grateful and I feel like The Voice was just a stepping stone into the career that I want to go into.

As well as Jennifer being a fan, Jamie was left completely gobsmacked when he discovered Khloé Kardashian was also a fan of his and shared his music on her Instagram.

The businesswoman was blown away by his killer vocals and wanted her millions of followers to discover him as well.

Reflecting on the moment Khloé shared his material, he said: “My mum ran into my room and said ‘someone called Khloé Kardashian has posted about you’ and I was like ‘yeah whatever’, then I looked at my phone and it blew up.

“That was madness for me, everyone watches The Kardashians because it’s so cool and I feel like that was the nail on the head when people like that are following me and messaging me saying how talented I am.

“It was really special and it made me popular among my friendship group.”

Jamie’s EP Broken Memories is out now.
