There was also an adorable picture of a family dinner, with children posing with hilarious grimaces.

He wrote in the post’s caption: “The best weather, best fun and the very best people for a few days away.”

Jonnie was quickly showered with support as a person commented: “You’re looking better Jonnie,” along with a yellow heart.

“You look so well!! I hope with all my heart you are in remission,” a person wrote.

Another person chimed in: “Absolutely gorgeous pictures and memories for all your family,” along with two pink heart emojis.

Last month, Jonnie delivered a tough cancer update on Morning Live from his end of life hospice.

The broadcaster shared his experience with palliative care, and shut down some of the main misconceptions many people have about hospices.

In the previous year, the host disclosed that he had been informed about having potentially “months” left to live following his diagnosis of terminal lung cancer in August 2020, prior to its progression to his brain.

Jonnie shared his health journey with the BBC’s Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones, discussing his encounters with hospice care ever since his diagnosis three years ago.

The housing revealed that he had had “up days and down days”, and that the palliative care he was receiving was a rather positive experience, as opposed to what he had expected.

“My hospice is a delight actually,” he said.

Jonnie continued: “I wouldn’t say it’s like a hotel but it’s like a very, very nice private hospital.

“My perception of a hospice was a boiling hot room full of people who look frail and look towards the end of their days.

“This is nothing of the sort, it’s spacious, energised, comfortable – it’s even got a jacuzzi bath and en-suite rooms.

“The staff are just amazing, so I’ve had a really, really good experience with my hospice.”
