Amanda Bynes 'released from hospital' after bravely placing herself on psychiatric hold

Amanda Bynes has reportedly left hospital after bravely placing herself on psychiatric hold.

The She’s The Man star was placed on hold back in March after she was seen walking the streets without any clothes on.

A source confirmed to NBC News that the 37-year-old had been released from a medical facility where she was being treated.

Bynes is reportedly now receiving outpatient care.

The source also said: “She hasn’t been in contact with her family for quite some time.”

Amanda was placed under 72 hour hold and at the time, the actor’s attorney told NBC News that “he was not in a position to provide a comment about the situation,” as reported by TMZ.

Bynes’ ex-fiancée Paul Michael has also told TMZ that the couple broke up just days before she was taken into hospital.

Paul claimed that two weeks before Amanda was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles completely naked, she had “disappeared for three days”.

Michael also alleged that Amanda had returned “home with another guy,” that the former couple “argued” and that she “said she didn’t care about him anymore”.

He later said that after the pair split, he “packed up his things and left their home”.

Michael admitted he was confused by her behaviour because the former child star “seemed stable”.

Amanda had also enrolled on a cosmetology course and was focussing on learning to be a nail technician.

Paul wondered whether something had happened to Amanda because she reportedly “seemed like a different person” when he spoke with her.

Amanda’s hospitalisation came almost a year after her conservatorship was terminated.

The conservatorship began back in 2013 and her parents later supported Amanda’s decision to terminate the agreement.

Back in 2022, Bynes released a statement which said: “In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritise my wellbeing in this next chapter.”

She continued: “I am excited about my upcoming endeavours – including my fragrance line – and look forward to sharing more when I can.”

Daily Star has contacted Amanda Bynes’ representative for comment.
