Are You Afraid of the Dark star unrecognisable in hunky transformation 30 years later

One star of hit Nickelodeon horror show Are You Afraid of the Dark looks totally unrecognisable more than 30 years after finding fame as Gary on the show back in 1991.

Ross Hull shot to fame as the founding member of the Midnight Society and the older brother to Tucker in the series.

Known for his bookish appearance and huge wire-framed glasses, Ross used to sport a brunette side-fringe on the series – but now he’s a total hunk.

Now he keeps his Instagram followers updated on his life and recently wowed in a paddle-boarding snap wearing nothing but a pair of stripy red trunks.

The effect left his rippling six-pack on display as Ross accessorised with a pair of dark shades, paddling in shallow waters while on holiday in the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada.

Now 47, the star was 15 years old when he shot to fame in the kids’ series, and went on to hold a variety of other roles – starring in 65 episodes of Student Bodies as Chris Sheppard, before going on to find fame in Stargate: Atlantis.

However, he’s since had a complete career turnaround, and is now a weather presenter for various news channels.

Ross got his big break in weather presenting in 2005, when he starred on Canada’s Weather Network. He now works for Global News, producing forecasts for Toronto, Montreal, New Brunswick and Winnipeg.

In his personal life, Ross is happily settled down with his boyfriend Rodson Garcia, after meeting at a social media pet influencer event in 2016.

Ross confessed to Streets of Toronto that their “first date” was actually a nine-day road trip across the Maritimes.

He said: “After the trip, we were both sad to see each other go. I was hesitant about starting a long-distance relationship, and after visiting each other back and forth, it became clear that one of us would have to move to keep what we had going.”

Thankfully, Rodson later moved to be with Ross in Toronto – and the rest is history.

Speaking of his coming out story, Ross said: “As for being ‘out,’ I think that’s all a part of being comfortable with who you are and that ultimately helps you in all aspects of life.

“It’s not always easy to get to that point though, which is why a supportive community always helps as well as knowing that others have taken that path (with success) before you.”
