The BBC Breakfast studio was reduced to laughter on Monday (September 11) as co-host Jon Kay made an hilarious quip in reference to reporter Mike Bushell’s accident-prone past.
Mike is currently on the southern coast of France where he is reporting on the Rugby World Cup.
Hailing the city’s views in the closure of his report, Mike said: “The fish are on shore – they have been brought in from the beautiful Mediterranean out there, it’s so fresh here. What a lovely diet they have here – coffee, croissants and fresh fish every day. It’s wonderful.

He continued: “It’s paradise. The harbour. The history. It’s just beautiful in the sunshine.”
Back in London, meanwhile, Jon appeared to be concerned for his co-star, who has a history of gaffs involving water live on air. “Mike, just stay away from the water,” he said. “Please, just stay away from the water.”
Reassuring him, however, Mike hit back: “There’s a big distance.”
But maintaining his stance, Jon replied: “No Mike, even further back than that please – we know your track record!”
Back in 2018, Mike embarrassingly plunged into a swimming pool mid-interview.
The father-of-three was in Australia’s Gold Coast speaking to British swimmers competing in the Commonwealth Games.
The athletes all had their feet in the pool and Mike happily joined in too, with his feet dunked right in the water.
Mike got up so he could move round and interview the team from the water, but he made a grave error of judgment.

“Now I’ve got to be very careful because I have a sound pack on,” he said, edging towards the water.
All was fine when he first submerged himself into the pool but he missed a massive step, which caused him to plunge right in.
One cruel viewer took to X, formerly Twitter on Monday morning hoping for another mishap, meanwhile.
“Please fall in .. please fall in ..please fall in … #BBCBreakfast,” the user wrote.
And another joked: “#bbcbreakfast I wish somebody would take his batteries out.”
