But the presenter swiftly moved on as he started discussing Luca Brecel’s huge win in the World Snooker Championship.

John was rushed to hospital on Friday (April 28) after suffering from a nasty knee injury, updating his followers on his social media page.

Sharing a photo of himself lying in his hospital bed, the TV star could be seen wearing a medical gown with a huge bandage on his leg.

John had an operation to fix the damage in his knee

John revealed he tore his meniscus, damaging the cartilage between the bones in his knee and had undergone an operation to fix it.

Seeing the light-hearted side of the situation, John jokingly captioned the snap: “Less of a dash more of a hop to the studio come Monday.”

After sharing the update with his friends and followers, the sports presenter was inundated with messages of support.
