BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty warned 'how dare you' by Carol Kirkwood after career jibe

BBC Breakfast turned savage on Friday morning (March 31) when host Naga Munchetty took a swipe at weather star Carol Kirkwood.

And a startled Carol wasn’t afraid to bite back at Naga in front of the cameras as she jokingly warned her colleague: “How very dare you.”

Beloved BBC forecaster Carol had just finished her daily weather report when Naga decided to get a cheeky dig in that suggested she was all doom and gloom most of the time.

Naga said: “It was a lovely day yesterday in many parts, though, so I can take a little lower today. It’s good.”

Carol reassured her that there was plenty of more sunny weather coming as she said: “You’ll be pleased to hear then that on Sunday it’s going to be dry with some sunshine for most of us.

“I know you like the sun, Naga…”

Naga then mocked poor Carol when she sarcastically added: “Look at you bringing some good news for a change, Carol Kirkwood.”

Carol looked shocked at Naga’s dig for a moment, but luckily, she took the jibe well as she burst out laughing shortly after.

Playing along with the bit, Carol warned Naga: “How very dare you, Naga!”

A giggling Naga told Carol: “Always, Carol. See you later.”

BBC Breakfast underwent a presenter shake-up on Friday as Charlie Stayt was missing from his usual spot on the red sofa.

It meant BBC presenter Roger Johnson stepped in to host the show with Naga.

And earlier this week, Ben Thompson filled in for main presenter Jon Kay on Monday and Tuesday, meaning he hosted the show with Sally Nugent instead.
