BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s 12 stars you completely forgot were contestants on show

Strictly Come Dancing viewers can probably list plenty of stars who have taken a twirl on the BBC ballroom show, but there are some that people may have forgotten

Strictly Come Dancing’s history reads like a who’s who of the showbiz scene, with plenty of A-listers gracing the ballroom over the years.

The much-loved BBC competition started in 2004 and since then it has hosted dozens of celebs who have vied to make it all the way and get their hands on the coveted Glitterball trophy. From Alesha Dixon to Ed Balls to Abbey Clancy, there are some turns around the dancefloor that made their mark and are fixed in our memories.

But there are other former contestants from the BBC show who we have forgotten a bit as the series has gone on. For every Alesha there’s a Quentin Willson, the journalist and presenter whose 2004 Strictly stint has slipped some people’s minds.
