Vito Coppola has started calling Ellie Leach “my winner” in the last week of Strictly Come Dancing.
Ellie and Vito have reached the final of the BBC dancing show airing on Saturday (December 16), where they’ll be competing against EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and Diane Buswell and West End star Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin. And fans have been dying to know if they’re dating or not.
Both Vito and Ellie have insisted that they aren’t dating and that they are simply good friends. But the Italian dancer has fuelled rumours by calling her sweet names such as “baby”, and he just affectionately branded her his “winner”.

Asked what it would mean to win the show during a press conference with Daily Star and other press, Vito told Ellie: “You are the winner, she’s been a winner since day one, and the way she moves, and you work so hard.

“Really, every single week you’ve been a winner. My winner, our winner. All your family, all the people that love you are proud.”
Ellie said: “I think that for me, Strictly has always been a dream. To have had this experience anyway, I already feel like I’ve won, and with you as a teacher, as a partner, I genuinely do feel like I’ve won.

“Obviously it would be nice to win, but coming into Strictly I just wanted to have fun and enjoy every single moment and that’s exactly what we’ve done.”
Asked about the dating rumours again, Vito suggested there simply wouldn’t be enough time in the day for romance even if they were into eachother as they are simply so “focused” on doing well in the competition. He also explained that their partnership was rooted in “trust” and that such a thing is essential for dancing well together.

Ellie previously told OK! Magazine: “We really, really get along and we have a lovely friendship. I hope we can continue that. We’ve got a really good relationship where we kind of know what the other needs.”
