Bruce Springsteen, 73, suffers terrifying fall off stage as he kicks off worldwide tour

Bruce Springsteen took a terrifying fall off the stage after kicking off his huge world tour.

The Thunder Road hitmaker, 73, was performing his track Ghosts with his E Street Band in Amsterdam this week when he took a scary tumble down some steps.

Bruce attempted to walk up the steps to the stage at the Johan Cruyff Arena in the Netherlands, but missed a step and landed awkwardly on his back.

In tight black jeans and a button-up shirt, Bruce fell forward before collapsing on his back and struggled to sit up.

It didn’t help that the rocker had his guitar around his neck to weigh him down.

Bruce was seen lying winded on his back for a short time as his bandmates rushed over to help, taking the strap from around his neck as Bruce struggled to stand once again.

With assistance, he was finally able to get back on his feet with a grin on his face to thunderous applause – and is thought not to be injured after the fall.

Joking that the show was already over, he yelled: “Goodnight, everybody!” but thankfully continued the gig.

The Boss has plenty more gigs to get through before he can rest, too, and in June will be heading to the UK, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland.

The summer months will see him continuing to tour before his gigs finally wrap in San Fransisco in December.

Fans, however, have been left worried for Bruce after the incident, and took to social media to share their concerns.

One wrote: “Oh no! That attempt to get up made me remember the Boss IS an old man!”

As another branded the fall “nasty”.

However, others leapt to Bruce’s defence as one argued: “It was a pretty graceful fall – did a nice roll. No big deal.”

“It wasn’t that bad, he just laughed it off and delivered a fantastic gig to us all,” another fan who was in the crowd said.

“It was barely a tumble!” somebody else tweeted.

Others were more confused as to why all the arena lights appeared to be on during the concert, as the stage and the crowd were bathed in light.

“I still don’t understand,” one said. “Does this guy literally rock n’ roll with the lights on? And no-one thinks this is weird?”

“Daylight outdoor show?” somebody else wondered – as another fan pointed out that Bruce always turns up the lights during his emotional encores.
