Chris Rock slammed for branding Jada Pinkett-Smith 'b***h' after Oscars slap

Chris Rock has been slammed for repeatedly calling Jada Pinkett-Smith a “bitch” in his Netflix comedy special that aired on Sunday (March 5).

The comedian released the show almost one year after the famous “slapgate” incident at the Oscars in 2022.

In his special, called Selective Outrage, he addressed Will Smith’s Oscar slap, Jada’s “entanglement” with August Alsina and much more.

A source close to Jada has claimed that Chris has been “obsessed” with Jada for decades, adding she has nothing to do with the drama.

The source told People: “Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled. Chris is obsessed with her and that’s been going on for almost 30 years.

“Look where he chose to film his Netflix special. Her hometown [of Baltimore]. Obsessed.”

A part of the comedy special showed Chris making fun of Jada for saying he should “not host” the Oscars because her husband was was snubbed for his performance in 2015’s Concussion.

However a source close to Jada has said that she “never” asked this and publicly posted on Facebook that he would be the perfect host.

The source also claimed that Jada was shocked at the amount of times that Chris referred to her as “that bitch” on the show.

It comes after last year’s incident during which Will Smith walked on stage and slapped host Chris Rock across the face.

Will’s response was due to a joke that Chris made about his wife, and Will was subsequently banned from all Academy events for 10 years.

After the incident, it is reported that the Oscars have set up a “crisis team” for this year’s show.

The “crisis team” comes after the president of the Academy, Janet Yang, said the response to the “unprecedented” Will Smith slapgate incident had been “inadequate”.
