Christine McGuiness makes heartbreaking Christmas confession about split with Paddy

Christine McGuinness has opened up about the state of her current living situation with her estranged husband Paddy, as they navigate life after their separation.

The couple, who wed in 2011, saw their relationship come to an end last year. Despite their split, the duo will still celebrate Christmas together.

Fans were taken aback last year when the pair announced their decision to part ways after a decade of marriage. Despite their separation, the pair are raising their three children – eight-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and five-year-old Felicity in the same house.

Now, in a tear-jerking update, Christine has opened up about the current state of affairs with Paddy, admitting that they both need to “move on” despite their ongoing cohabitation. Christine told Closer magazine: “Of course me and Paddy will be spending Christmas together because we still live in the same house. I think we’ve got to move on, but for now it works for the children.

“We both go in and out and we’ve got a schedule we try to stick to and a routine for the kids. The one thing we agree on more than anything is that we just want what’s best for our children, and that’s to be a good mum and dad.” Christine went on to explain that being there for her children was what she considered to be the most important aspect of the festive season.

She explained: “So, around Christmas time, I always make sure that I’m at home more than ever – I love it.” The McGuinness clan has been in the spotlight for their advocacy for autism awareness, as all three kids have been diagnosed with the condition. Christine herself was diagnosed with autism – which she described as “amazing” and hoped it would help her guide her children with the condition.

Paddy and Christine announced their split after being together for 15 years. Posting a shared statement via Instagram, the couple explained: “A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

“This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”
