Corrie Elaine murder horror as killer Stephen strikes again in sinister twist

Coronation Street’s Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) finds herself in grave danger after she infuriates her fiancée Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

The serial killer has already murdered Leo and Teddy Thompkins and most recently businessman Rufus whom he violently drowned.

Next week on the ITV soap, Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies) strides over and demands to know why Stephen has lied to both him and Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews).

As Stephen attempts to find a plausible reason, Owen tells him that once he takes over the factory, he’s fired.

Stephen is furious when Elaine says she will never invest in the factory

Afterwards, Stephen warns Carla Connor (Alison King) against selling the factory but she insists that she has to for the sake of her mental health.

Stephen kicks himself, realising his own actions have caused Carla to want sell the business.

With the frustrations of the day getting the better of him, Stephen trashes the factory floor.

Later, when unpacking in their new flat, Stephen suggests again to Elaine that they should buy Carla’s share of the business.

Elaine stumbles and hits her head

When Elaine snaps at him and spells out that she will never invest a penny in the factory and they should simply enjoy their retirement, Stephen masks his fury.

Getting back at his fiancé, Stephen replaces Elaine’s blood pressure pills with caffeine pills, leaving her exhausted and jittery.

Later, when Carla tells him if he doesn’t come up with the money quickly, she’ll sell to Owen, Stephen laces Elaine’s tea.

As Elaine admits she doesn’t feel well, Stephen feigns concern and offers to get some food.

Tim demands to know what happened to Elaine

Alone and overcome by dizziness, Elaine stumbles and hits her head.

When Stephen returns to find Elaine unconscious on the floor, he quietly backs out of the flat, leaving his fiancé alone.

Following Elaine’s fall, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) shares his suspicions about Stephen with Steve.

Confronting Stephen, he demands details about what happened to Elaine.
